Time for Fall: Fun Fall Activities (Plus PRINTABLE FREEBIE)

Here in southeastern Missouri October is widely accepted as fall. Usually it’s the time of year that real fall starts, not the “false fall” that Missouri sometimes gives us to just gets our hopes up that the scorching oppressive heat and humidity of summer is over.

Time for Fall

The leaves are changing colors and beginning to fall to the ground. Mornings are chilly and the days only make it to warm. Everywhere you look signs of the changing season can be seen.

Signs of Fall

Plaid shirts and boots are making an appearance, along with vests, boot socks, and scarves. Short sleeves and shorts are replaced with sweaters, hoodies, jeans, and fuzzy pants. Camo clothing can be seen everywhere which only means the hunt is ready to begin or, in some cases, is already over. Meals are changing from simple and cool things like salads or sandwiches to hearty and warm options of soups, chili, and stews. Iced drinks are being replaced by hot chocolate, piping hot coffee and cappuccino, or all those pumpkin spiced drinks (YUCK!). There are festivals every weekend that usually revolve around pumpkins, apples, or hayrides. And it’s the season for bonfires and roasting marshmallows for s’mores.

Since fall is here, it’s time to get to checking off the lists of all those fun things everyone loves doing during this wonderful season. Here are some of the best fall activities to enjoy by yourself, with friends, and with family.
